HP df-df0013cl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I use a wireless mouse with my HP 14-df0013cl laptop. It works fine, until I connect a USB hard drive to the other USB port and am streaming video off of the hard drive -- the response on the mouse then is very poor, both the movement of the cursor and the response to button clicks. If I stream video off of the internal drive, there is no issue.

@KeithK2,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

  • What is the make and model of the mouse?
  • Are you facing the same issue with the touchpad?
  • Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?

Meanwhile, I recommend you update the BIOS and the graphics driver from the below link and check if it helps.

BIOS: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp95001-95500/sp95066.exe

Graphics: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp91501-92000/sp91774.exe

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

I installed the BIOS update -- no change.  I did not install the graphics update -- it's not a display issue.

To answer your questions:

The mouse is a Logitech M325

The touchpad is NOT affected -- it works well even when the mouse response is bad.  This is why I did not install the graphics update.

I did not do any "troubleshooting"  -- other than trying different things to isolate the issue.

Thanks for you help

Keith

@KeithK2,

I recommend you try using a different mouse and check.

Also, check if there are any driver available for the Logitech mouse on the manufacturer website and install it.
