Product: Example: Pavilion 360 x
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Can anyone clarify if these two units are compatible.  HP tech support has not been a help. They claim that the usb -c will charge my laptop. It does not, the usb c will not even recognize the monitors keyboard and mouse. It only works if I plug the c into the adapter and plug into the regular USB ports.

I doon't know the model/product of your  Pavilion 360x (should be Pavilion x360 something) therefore I can't anzwer your question.

 

But the specs says the dock is compatible with HP laptops/ tablets with USB-C™ and USB ports . From its specs, it won't charge machine.
