Hello everyone!
I have at home an old Pavilion dv6605ed and I see that I can upgrade it, because it is way too slow with the Celeron CPU...
Anyway, my question is what are the best CPU, RAM and storage drive, that I can put into it, what the machine can work with, where can I find a proper service information and specification!?
I guess I am facing a problem with finding correct information, because the machine is very old already...
Any help by the specialists, will be highly appreciated and thanks to all, who pays attention to my request!
The machine is dissasembled, so in case any extra information over it, by my side, is needed, please someone just let me know, I will take care to provide it.

Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.
The processor and memory upgrade info can be found in chapter 1.
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01295877.pdf
You can actually install 2 x 4 GB of memory in your model but 4 GB DDR2-6400 memory modules are very expensive.
If your notebook has BIOS revison F.45 or newer installed, you can upgrade the processor to the T9500.
You may want to consider installing a 2.5" SSD in place of the mechanical hard drive.
It will only run at the SATA II speed but it will still be much better than the existing hard drive.
500 GB model SSD's are reasonably priced.

*I am not sure, if I can ask here in the same topic, but the subject is the same - an upgrade..., just this time it is one of my other HP products - an HP EliteBook 8460p. What is the best way to upgrade it, what is the best that can be mounted in this notebook, please!? (which one, for the protocol, performes still really good)

Again - Thanks a lot about the help and the provided information!
Both machines, doing just perfect after some proper upgrade, for its age and generation.
All the best, to all of you who helps us with the computing issues around!
