Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm unable to find information about maximum RAM frequency supported by my device. It has 2 RAM slots existing RAM is of 2400 MHz frequency the problem is RAM of same frequency is not available. Higher frequency rams are available in the market and I don't know whether it will support a RAM of frequency higher than 2400 MHz or not.

Hi:

 

The fastest speed your notebook's i5-8250U processor can run the memory at is 2400 MHz.

 

Intel® Core™ i5-8250U Processor (6M Cache, up to 3.40 GHz)

 

However, if you can't find a DDR4-2400 memory chip, or a DDR4-2666 MHz memory chip costs less, installing a compatible DDR4-2666 or even a DDR4-3200 memory chip will work just fine.

 

The faster memory automatically bridges to 2400 MHz to match the speed of the processor.

 

This would be a compatible DDR4-2666 8 GB memory chip for your notebook.

 

Crucial 8GB DDR4-2666 SODIMM | CT8G4SFRA266 | Crucial IN

 

This would be a compatible DDR4-3200 memory chip for your notebook.

 

Crucial 8GB DDR4-3200 SODIMM | CT8G4SFRA32A | Crucial IN

 

Below is the link to the service manual where you can find the memory removal and replacement procedure.

I need one more help I also want to insert an SSD in M.2 slot, can you please tell me what configuration of SSD I should order, and please suggest some compatible options for HP 15 BS 164TU.

You're very welcome.

 

Your notebook's M.2 slot supports SATA M.2 SSD's only, not NVMe.

 

You would need a M.2 SATA SSD like this one.

 

In the USA, this drive provides the best performance for the price.

 

Looks very reasonable in India too, especially since you can check the coupon box and get an additional 259 Rs off.
