Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

So, I was upgrading my laptop from 4gb to 8gb but while opening it I snapped off the front screws housing on the inside of the computer, the housing seems to be connected to a thin piece of foil which runs from under the hard drive (but not connected to it) to some sort of mini motherboard looking thing at the front.

I simply need to know whether that foil is really important for the computer to run. It seems to turn on fine and work but I just wish to put my mind at ease.

I reviewed your post and I understand that you want to know whether the foil on the back of the computer is needed.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

Can you share a picture of the foil you are referring to?

Meanwhile, below is the service guide for your computer and it has all the information about the service procedures. (Refer page 31 onwards)

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
