The reason why my G7 wouldn't power on was because of the keyboard. I took the whole thing apart and put it back together. While putting it back together without the ram or hdd, I turned it on after plugging in one ribbon cable at a time. Once I got to the last ribbon cable which was the keyboard and plugged it in, the laptop wouldn't power on. If I unplugged it, it would power on. Hope that helps anyone looking for help.
