What specific build of Windows 10 is installed?
What is the specific Realtek IR camera part number?
You can check at this Microsoft web site.
I do not see your laptop's 8th Gen i7-8550U processor listed and that may be why it does not work.

hi
thanks for replying but the i7 8550u was released in august 2017 and windows 10 v1703 was released in april 2017 which explains why it wasnt present in the document, but it is present in v1803 and above so it still doesnt answer my initial questions as to if the laptop actually does have an IR camera or if it doesnt why does the website have drivers for it?
thanks.
