Try this fix.

You might need the HP Hotkey Support at this point.

Hi, @spadesseth I am trying to find the right resources for your PC. You gave me two different HP Brands, which are HP 15-bw084AX and HP pavilion sleekbook 15-b001ee, so which one is yours? It can only be one, you should be able to see the right model on your PC Label.

Okay then perfect. I tried looking for the driver I gave you earlier but I was not comfortable with the results.

You can try downloading the HP Support Assistant on this page which should assist you in getting the right drivers for your PC.

I have already installed a newer version HPSA <therefore your suggested version is not getting installed since its older version>
is it really required to install the older version> also new hspa software is saying all drivers are latest<no updates required"

You said here "i got 3 different hp laptop and all 3 got same issue.1 laptop is working well after software update."

What software did you update that made the laptop work?

Also, try this fix as well.

Workaround: Since the keyboard is not working, you need to open the on-screen-keyboard from the ease of use menu.

Resolution:

1. Open registry editor window by typing regedit in run window.

2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\i8042prt,,

3. Edit the Startvalue and set it to a hex or decimal value of 1.

4. Reboot

5. Change to a PS/2 keyboard via the Keyboards section in Control Panel. 6. Also just do the driver update in this window. The final message will still say that you have the latest driver for this device, however the purpose of doing this is, it refreshes the driver and you will see the keyboard option in device manager window.

working one was comparatively a newer model. i have checked and its keyboard version is HPQ8002, whereas the ongoing issue is on HPQ8001.

Also i have tried registry edit option. it doesn't make any difference.

Since 2 days, the issue is intermittent. All key works for sometime, then randomly issue reoccurs. If i keep the laptop On for hours,it will act normal, then again issue happens.

Is there any source to get alternate driver for this keyboard version HPQ8001

Since we have tried suggestions that did not work out, I feel this should be a hardware issue. I mean we have tried solutions that would have been able to rectify the problem, so it is definitely something to do with the hardware.

May be it's hardware related, but my sister's Asus laptop having somewhat similar issue since 2-3 days.  That keyboard issue is with left control key. When control key is pressed, windows does not respond to it. So I tried onscreen keyboard.

If we keep Onscreen keyboard open and press the control key, onscreen keyboard shows control is pressed, but windows is not taking that input rather than showing in onscreen keyboard.

I suspect, these are somewhat related to windows updates.  Anyway thank you for your valuable time and inputs to assist me
