Hi,
A couple of questions first.
The USB port on the right side works?
Did both ports stop working at the same time?
Can you power a cell phone from the ports?
Have you tried different devices in the ports and do these devices work in the port on right?
Please also try to run HP diagnostics test. In components test you can run a test on USB ports

Let me know,

Ok. You should try performing the diagnostics test in the above post.
However, I believe that the ports have become defective and need to be replaced. Most "official" technicians would replace the motherboard. (which will be very expensive).
You can find the ports and have them replaced on the motherboard. The old ports need to be removed and the new ones soldered in place. You could try to get this done in a local repair store (maybe where they repair cell phones).
Hope it helps,
David
