Hi:

Chapter 1 of the service manual indicates the max memory is 2 x 8 GB.

Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)

You can do this to see how much memory your PC can actually support...

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator. This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacity and hit enter.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

The Crucial memory report for your notebook indicates it can support up to 64 GB of memory (2 x 32 GB).

Hello - thank you for the answer)

cmd shows me 33554432.

That means 32 giga - is that for one slot or both?

can you clear that moment please?

appreciate you help so much!

HP Recommended

You're very welcome.

The report should indicate the number of slots along with the 33554432.

The max for your PC according to the report you posted would be 2 x 16 GB.

Hi:

Since the Windows report you ran indicated your PC can take a max of 2 x 16 GB of memory, I recommend you buy the 32 GB Crucial memory that the report for your notebook guarantees to work...

Crucial 32GB Kit (2 x 16GB) DDR4-3200 SODIMM | CT2K16G4SFRA32A | Crucial.com

If you can't buy the kit, you can buy 2 of the single chips...

I bought the kit, installed it - bur I still don't feel the laptop is faster..

Laptop sees the memory. It says 32 giga in performance tab.

And it is the same memory.

Is there any trick?))

Hi:

There are no tricks to make the memory perform any faster than it is now.
