keyboard backlight key F5 not working after hardware change , inserted m.2 ssd

HP Recommended
Example: Pavilion X360 core i3 8th gen
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

i have hp pavilion x 360 = HP Pavilion x360 - 14-cd0077tu convertible . recently i upgraded my hard disc with a m.2 ssd and reinstalled windows on it. did all the necessary updates regarding windows, hp support assistant and also all the related hp drivers. however the f5 key which used to light up my keyboard is not working now. all other F keys are doing their shortcut tasks. even when i press the fn plus f5 key works for refresh function , so the button is fine i presume. i also tried resetting the bios to default, still no result . still  the key board backlight is not functioning, another optional bios update started showing in the hp support assistant but that is not getting installed as it shows "unable to open bios image".

any help would be highly appreciated
