Hello Erico,
thank you for the swift reply. I have been waiting for a reply from the crucial website for an hour in chat... They simply stopped texting after I asked my question.
I'm happy that wasn't the case here! Can you please explain why I have been unable to locate the 17-w200-cto number listed in the link? After using the HP support assistant I was under the impression my Omen model number was X7N74AV?
Some people just want the answers, I like to understand the answer.

"After using the HP support assistant I was under the impression my Omen model number was X7N74AV?"
That is actually a partial HP product number. There should be a country market code at the end in the format #xxx.
When members identify a notebook as you did I use the Google search engine or The HP product Content browser to find the actual product name.
The 17-w200-cto has a CTO at the end which translates to configure to order prior to purchase.
If you use the Crucial part number for the compatible 16GB modules you want in a search engine you can find an online source. It may be at Amazon.com or an online vendor such as NewEgg.com.

Hi Erico,
This has to be some kind of joke. I guess I just don't understand why after downloading HP software to answer my own question, The information provided and googles never showers the numbers you kindly listed? Now lets top things off with a simple question that all this software and wasted time should have already provided me... Can I upgrade my HP Omen laptop memory modules from 2- 8gb modules which equal 16bgb, to 2-16gb memory modules = 32gb... HP support assistant has searched my computer and the glory of the information relayed to me is a simple "my computer has 16gb memory 2-8gb modules" that's all I'm allowed to know? a simple Max amount 32gb or even 64gb.
HP OMEN 17-w200 CTO Laptop Memory Questions.
What type of memory does the HP OMEN 17-w200 CTO Laptop take?
The HP OMEN 17-w200 CTO Laptop takes the DDR4 PC4-19200 2400MHz Non-ECC SODIMM memory. memory type, and comes installed with 4GB memory.
How much memory does the HP OMEN 17-w200 CTO Laptop take?
You can upgrade your HP OMEN 17-w200 CTO Laptop to up to a maximum memory capacity of 16GB Memory.
I'm unhappy with downloading programs which do not display the information from the manufacturer.
I had to search "memory stock.com" to get that answer, and I honestly don't know if they're correct per the following information on Crucial's website states:
Maximum Memory: 32GB
*Not to exceed manufacturer supported memory.
Slots: 2 (2 banks of 1)
Standard Memory: 8GB to 16GB removable
I thank you again Erico, for your time and help.
as you can probably guess I am kind of annoyed buy the simple fact that I feel like I shouldn't have had to leave the HP Support Assistant program interface, and start a search elsewhere. Still uncertain about max memory limit as I would like to spend the $130.00 dollars on 32gb.

Crucial Memory guarantees the compatibility of their memory for a specific notebook.
If Crucial states 32 GB, that means that they have tested it as a supported configuration.
Just because HP states 16 GB maximum installed, does not make it an actual limiting factor.
This is something that we have run into before with other HP notebooks.
Support for 64 GB is a different story. The only notebooks I know that support that are the mobile work stations, such as the Enterprise class ZBook series.
