You could install an Intel T8300 processor, 2 gigs of RAM and it will support a solid state drive.
$5 for the processor:
$3 for the memory:
$50 for a 120 gig SSD:
You have already been provided a link to the Service Manual. The processor upgrade would be a bit of a pain but these older laptops are actually easier to work on than new ones. These upgrades would be noticeable but you have to ask why are the processor and RAM so inexpensive?...because they are obsolete and there is no market for them.
Save your money and buy a new laptop is the best advice, but I will help as much as you want if you choose to do the upgrade.

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂
I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.
As I understand you want information on upgrading your HP device,
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
Have you attempted updating windows & BIOS to increase system performance?
Are you having any specific issues with performance, while playing games or otherwise? Could you elaborate?
While you respond to that, here are a few things you should know:
1) CPU: I must let you know that HP neither supports nor recommends upgrading the CPU as its rather complicated as the part needs to match all the components of your device, especially the motherboard + it's quite expensive.
2) RAM: Supports up to 2 GB of system RAM
Recommended upgrade:
● 1024 (1024 × 1, 512 × 2)
● 512 (512 × 1, 256 × 2)
● 256 (256 × 1)
3 & 4) SSD: I'm afraid your device doesn't have support for SSD.
5) the cost depends on part availability, most of the parts on your device are obsolete and could be hard to find, hence I would personally suggest getting a new device as it would be the smarter choice than upgrading the same one.

Keep me posted,
If the information I've provided was helpful,
give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Good Luck.
