HP Zbook Firefly 14 G7 Mobile Workstation (8VK85AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi all, I have a Zbook Firefly 14 G7, it comes with the slot for a SIM Card but not with the 4G adapter, I want to add this functionality to my computer and I found 2 models that are supposed to be compatible:

  • Qualcomm-procesador Snapdragon X55 T99W175, Módulo 5G M.2, 5GNR, Sub 6G, mmWave

  • L850-GL-tarjeta inalámbrica L850 para hp lt4210 fibocom, L15398-001 xmm 7360 wwan

My question is if anyone can confirm if they are compatible or not, with my computer, and if anyone has had this same issue, witch one should I choose I know one is 5G and the other is 4G, I undestand that 5G is newer and should be my main option but I am worried about compatibility and the fct that they do not say anything about HP

Thanks in advance

You're very welcome.

Chapter 1 of the manual does indicate that after market options are supported.

WWAN (select products only; not available on models with discrete graphics)
Intel XMM™ 7360 LTE-Advanced (Cat 9)
Intel XMM 7560 LTE-Advanced Pro (Cat 16)
Four WWAN antennas (worldwide 5 band, 2 at top and 2 at bottom of WWAN panels)
WWAN cards are compatible with a programmable removable eSIM
Supports WWAN after market option

So, it may be possible to install a different model WWAN card in your notebook.

I cannot find any discussions where anyone has tried to install a WWAN card in that model notebook.

Hi:

Chapter 3 of the service manual has the two supported WWAN adapters with their HP part numbers:

Maintenance and Service Guide

Intel XMM 7560 LTE-Advanced Pro (Cat16)    HP part # L40752-002

Intel XMM 7360 LTE-Advanced (Cat 9)             HP part # L70670-002

They don't seem to match either of the ones you posted.

Make sure your notebook has the antenna wires present where the WWAN card is installed before buying one.

I recommend that you do a search by the HP part number and find a WWAN card that references the HP part number.

Many Thanks Paul, I agree with you, both are 4G and I was looking for 5G but I will look for that specific HP part number and will decide
