For HP Omni book x laptop 14 (sn#Edited) WINDOWS 11 64 bit arm uefi

Error 03F0

Computer shows HP AI Experiences and then reboots every time. Never shows a please wait, while USB windows 11 install is in. Otherwise without it, it keeps showing 03F0 No Operating System on Disk drive ,  please install operating system, and won't boot into recovery mode regardless of what I do. I've changed the boot settings and the USB starts to boot and shows this followed by the HP AI Experiences screen before it restarts all over again and does the same thing in a loop.,Screenshot_20250917-214106.Photos.png

Hi @Original_Wolf,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for sharing the image. Based on what’s shown on your HP OmniBook X Laptop 14 (ARM UEFI, Windows 11) screen, here’s a breakdown of what’s happening and how to move forward:

🧠 What the Screen Shows

Your laptop is:

  • Using 64-bit ARM UEFI firmware (not x64/x86).
  • Attempting to boot from a USB drive with an NTFS partition labelled COCOMA_AGREE_EN-US_DV9.
  • Successfully launching the ARM-compatible EFI bootloader (bootaa64.efi).
  • Starting Windows boot manager.

However, it then reboots and loops, and without the USB, it shows Error 03F0, which means:

03F0 – Boot Device Not Found
This error indicates that the internal storage (SSD/eMMC) is either:

  • Not detected
  • Not properly initialized
  • Missing a valid operating system

Steps to Fix the Boot Loop and 03F0 Error

1. Check Internal Storage in BIOS

  • Press Esc or F10 during startup to enter BIOS.
  • Go to Storage > Device Configuration.
  • Confirm if the internal drive is listed.
    • If not listed, it may be disconnected or failed.
    • If listed, proceed to reinstall Windows.

2. Use ARM-Compatible Windows Installer

Since your laptop uses ARM UEFI, you must use:

  • Windows 11 ARM64 ISO
  • A USB created with bootaa64.efi in the correct path (/efi/boot/)

⚠️ Most standard Windows USB installers (x64) will not work on ARM UEFI systems.

You can download the correct ISO from: 👉 Windows Insider Preview for ARM64

Let me know if you need help creating a bootable USB for ARM.

3. Reset BIOS Settings

  • In BIOS, choose Restore Defaults or Load Setup Defaults
  • Save and exit

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
