Hello,

Just curious as I noticed a partition when I was wiping and formatting my HDD I took out and replaced with a M.2 NVMe SSD where I used to have a 16 MB Optane card in. I originally took out the old HDD and was going to use it as a external drive for storage but have decided to put it back in but it still will be for just storage. It was then in Partition Wizard I saw a 16 MB partition, file system is "other" and file type GPT(Reserved Partition). Since it's the same size as the Optane was I thought maybe that's why it is there but I had disabled the Optane and removed it and did a clean Win 10 install so not why it would be related to that. All is running fine but I am curious about why and or what this partition is needed for? I will attached a screen shot and if someone who knows more than I can explain it to me I would appreciate it. I realize 16 MB isn't anything space wise but just seemed odd to see that.

Thanks for the help !!

Optane can't be just 16MB, minimum should be 16GB, and physically different, not a partition. Its specs says nothing about Optane

It is a reserved partition;  most likely Windows uses it for updates. It is relatively too small you can leave it alone.

First , I tried to delete the post as I resolved my issue. Also, it does have optane , what you listed is not my notebook.

16 GB was the optane I removed.

I appreciate your reply but really wish I could have deleted my post. I will mark it as solved but the link you posted is not my notebook.
