Hi @Csf81,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I’m sorry to hear about the issues you’re facing with your laptop after the BIOS update—it’s incredibly frustrating when an update causes such significant problems. Let’s try to get this resolved.

  • Did the BIOS update process encounter any interruptions, such as a power loss or error message during installation?
  • Have you tried using a USB recovery method or resetting the BIOS using the motherboard’s CMOS battery?
  • Are you able to access any form of recovery menu or diagnostics tools when powering on the laptop?

Let's try these steps.

Perform a BIOS Reset:

  • Disconnect the laptop from power and remove the battery (if possible).
  • Locate the CMOS battery on the motherboard, carefully remove it, and wait for 5-10 minutes before reinserting it. This will reset the BIOS to its factory defaults.

Use a USB BIOS Recovery:

  • Download the official BIOS file from HP's Support Page for your laptop model.
  • Create a BIOS recovery USB by using another computer and HP's BIOS recovery tool.
  • Insert the USB into your laptop and press Windows + B (or Windows + V) while holding the power button to initiate the recovery process.

Inspect the USB Recovery Process:

  • Ensure the USB is formatted in FAT32 and contains only the BIOS recovery files.
  • Try using a different USB port or stick if the process doesn’t initiate.

Use an External Programmer for BIOS Flashing:

  • If the official recovery doesn’t work, you may need to use a hardware-based EEPROM programmer to flash the BIOS chip manually.
  • Obtain a BIOS dump file compatible with your model from trusted sources or forums (such as BIOS-mod communities or technicians specializing in HP laptops).

  • Since the official BIOS recovery isn’t working, I recommend you contact HP Support.
  • Request a repair under warranty if applicable.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
