HP Pavilion p7 1234
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Rebooting computer after windows 10 updates and received this error.

Processor type: AMD A6 3650 APU with Radeon HD graphics.

processor speed: 2600 MHz

L1/L2 cache size 128kb x4/1024 Kbps x4

memory size 8192mb ddr3/1333 MHz/ dual channel.

Channel A: xmm1 4096 mb

Channel B: xmm2 4096 mb

bios revison /date v.7.23 7/04/2012

1720 Smart HD detects imminent failure.

Failing Drive: ST31000524AS

Failing Attribute: # 05

Then I have an option for hitting F1.

When I do that it will go thru a scan and repair disk, goes back the the error again. I hit F1 again and will boot normal.

I have backed up everything on a 1tb drive for now.

Does hard drive need replacing...I'm guessing yes, and what drive can I buy that will work with this system?

Yes the hard drive needs replaced. You can use any 2.5 inch wide 7 or 9.5 mm thick SATA hard drive or SSD.
