Omen
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi. I have a serious issue with my HP Omen.

Omen by HP- 17t-an100CTO

Windows 10 version 1903 (64-bit)

Edition Windows 10 Home

A couple months after purchase, it crashed and the only way to get it running again was to download an iso on someone else's pc

Back then I didn’t know there were different builds. I got the 20h2 version.

Recently, I purchased an ext ssd and a thunderbolt hub. They don’t work when Plugged in. The hub goes on only when plugged into a thunderbolt port.

I went to your website for drivers. There I learned that I’m supposed to have a 1903 build. Many of the drivers, including some ssd drivers, the bios, and one of the thunderbolt drivers would not load. A message said they were incompatible.

I was talking to a Microsoft tech. He said they no longer have the 1903 build to download to me. He suggested I contact you. He said you would have, I think he said images of all the builds you use on your PC’s.

Can I get an image of the 1903, and instructions on how to use an image? That sounds strange. An image instead of a file.

I’m really hoping you can help me with this. Ive been struggling with this for weeks now. Preparing to reinstall. Reading about backing up and a clean reinstall procedure. I recently lost a ton of html work due to corruption which I guess was from a virus. Another good reason to reinstall.

They sent me what they told me was the 1903 build, but I tried to use the download three times. Each time it had only the potion to load UK English, and at the end (6 hours) it failed at the final step. I’m mentally exhausted from fighting with this issue.

You have a serious issue as MS no longer supports version 1903.  Their release support information lists version 1909 but not 1903.

You might be able to get version 1909 OEM version using the information below:

You can try using Windows images downloaded using the tool from this site:

https://www.heidoc.net/joomla/technology-science/microsoft/67-microsoft-windows-iso-download-tool

Click the Download: Windows-ISO-Download.exe link. This will download that file to your PC. Double-click that file to run it.

Download the tool, run it, and do the following:
1) Select Windows 10 at the upper right
2) Under Select edition, select Windows 10 Home Pro under the version 1909 heading
3) Click the Confirm button
4) Select the product language, click confirm button
6) Select either the 64-bit download
7) Select a folder to save the file -- it's downloading 4GB or so of data, so that will take a while depending on the download speed. The progress bar might not show any progress but when the download is nearly done, a window will pop open indicating the ISO file is being moved from a temporary download directory to the folder you selected. The screen will then say Download Complete.

Once you have this, download and install RUFUS and use the option to create a bootable USB stick from the ISO file.
