Welcome to the HP Community --
I think I do not understand your question.
?
It's not generally difficult to tell the two types of systems apart.
- A Desktop is a box to which you must connect a monitor, keyboard and mouse.
- The laptop is a folding computer you can hold in your hand that generally includes a built-in keyboard and touchpad.
If you are referring to having found extra / additional entries in the HP Support Assistant app (for example),
The list of entries might be coming from your HP Account > Dashboard > My Devices list.
What else?
Windows Start key > Settings > Home
The main "home" page in Settings displays your current system and login status.

I didn't think a laptop would show 2 devices. I thought it as 1 device and a actual external device is only then I'd see 2 devices. I can be a blonde alot of the time so this is my blonde moment for now. 🤗
PS: I'm married to a blonde & he's a senior & I have dyslexia so yeah...triple whammy
Thank u

You are welcome.
Smiling.
So, ask your senior partner if what you are seeing and my answer make sense in context.
We can always look at it again when I have a better idea of where you are looking.
Otherwise, "all good".
