HP Recommended
Microsoft Windows 11

How this started:

1. Laptop was left powered on and not plugged in for 7 months in a office. Laptop was found under a pile of files.

2. Laptop was charged, BIOS clock/date were set and when windows updates required a restart it crashed displaying second image.

3. HP support app was used to run diag and repairs. BIOS firmware was updated and it did not help.

What I have found so far.

Power on (pushed button) and shut down (from windows task bar) laptop acts as it should, but when Windows updates required a restart the laptop crashed and displayed second image.

At this point I performed a hard reset (pulled battery and pushed power button for one minute) and at power on (pushed power button) first image is displayed and laptop starts and works as it should. I just can not allow a "restart" or it's back to square one.
