MS pushed the 24H2 update and the laptop lost all wifi, Bluetooth, touch screen, and sound. (Likely camera too)
I've done the recovery back up to before update, no success, reinstalled windows 11 (twice) and did a full factory rest. Still the laptop will not connect to any of the above features. Even in Device Manager it's as if the Bluetooth radio isn't installed.
It's a basically new laptop, hate to trash it but not sure what to do.

Hi @Rusty1992
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It seems that the issues you're experiencing after upgrading to Windows 11 24H2 might be related to compatibility problems between the new update and the drivers or system components of your computer.
Here's what you can try to resolve the problems.
Webcam Issue
- Update or Roll Back Webcam Driver:
- Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
- Under Cameras or Imaging devices, find your webcam, right-click it, and select Update driver. Try updating to the latest driver.
- If the update doesn't work, right-click the webcam and select Properties. Go to the Driver tab and choose Roll Back Driver if the option is available, especially if the webcam was working before the update.
Quick Settings Panel Not Opening (Black Screen)
- Reinstall Graphics Drivers:
- This issue could be related to your display drivers. Go to Device Manager, expand Display adapters, and right-click your graphics driver. Choose Uninstall device.
- After uninstalling, restart your PC. Windows should automatically reinstall the latest driver, or you can manually download and install the driver from HP's website or your GPU manufacturer (Intel/AMD).
Toolbar/Taskbar Not Showing
- Restart Windows Explorer:
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- Find Windows Explorer in the list, right-click it, and select Restart. This often fixes the taskbar and Quick Settings issues.
- System File Check:
- Press Win + X and select Windows Terminal (Admin) or Command Prompt (Admin).
- Type the following commands one by one, pressing Enter after each:
sfc /scannow
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Additional Steps
- Check for More Updates: Sometimes after a major Windows update, new patches are quickly released to fix bugs. Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for any additional updates.
- HP Support Assistant: Use the HP Support Assistant to check for any BIOS or driver updates specific to your HP Envy x360 that could be required after the Windows update.
If these steps don't resolve the issues, you may need to consider rolling back the Windows 11 24H2 update until a more stable release is available. To do this:
- Go to Settings > System > Recovery.
- Under Go back to the previous version of Windows, select Go back.
I hope this helps.

Thank you Hawks_Eye for a great detailed response. Very helpful.
Here's what happened - in the meantime I fixed it myself. (hopefully this is helpful to someone else)
Problem: MS update of Windows 11 24H2 - caused HP Envy convertible to lose Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, onboard sound, and touchscreen. Devise Manger showed no Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth at all. Had to do a wired LAN connection. Actually, the camera did work, as well as the laptop would send print jobs to the Wi-Fi printer? which made no sense if the Wi-Fi radio was missing? So, something was obviously still working. (Note: laptop was working perfectly fine before the update)
Repair steps: (as best I can reconstruct)
- I first rolled back the 24H2 update to previous update- did nothing
- I installed drivers from an HP site - but couldn't do so from Device Manager, and it didn't recognize that there were any internal Bluetooth, Wi-Fi radios, touchscreen HID.
- I reinstalled Windows 11 (three times) - did nothing. Note: the 242H update is no longer available, instead MS pushed a 23H2 "repaired" update.
- I went into the Windows Update Advanced Options - and downloaded a couple of security updates. Nothing happened. There I found and then installed an HP Frame update - and boom, my Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Sound were all back, and once again present in the Devise Manager. That one step seemed be the most effective step.
- The only missing function then was the touchscreen, but I found advice to go Command Prompt and enter a Disk-Diagnostic command. Doing so, it immediately found that a HID driver was missing and installed a driver. After restart the Touchscreen function is working fine.
- Thus, all of the lost functionality has been restored.
- I only wish I better documented my steps, as I really don't think I could repeat what I did in exact steps. But I'm pretty happy with what I managed to do, (not being a pro) thanks to sites like this!
