301 Hard Disk Error is an unexpected error message indicating your hard disk drive (HDD) or the solid state drive (SSD) failure.

Several reasons may lead to this error:

  • SMART hard disk check Failure
  • Broken IDE/SATA controller chip in the Motherboard

You may try the following solutions to fix the issue.

Solution 1: BIOS Menu

Solution 2: Run chkdsk

Solution 3: Verify a Drive for Errors

To prevent data loss or other issue, you're strongly advised to backup the content regularly with Windows built-in backup utility or third-party backup software like MiniTool ShadowMaker
