3D Driveguard Download Sept 2017

Product Name: HP Pavilion Noteb POS46EA#ABU
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP Pavilion Notebook

Product No: POS46EA#ABU

Windows 10 64bit

I recently did the big windows 10 update and was left with the error "This application failed to start because accelerometerdll.DLL was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem".

I deleted '3D Driveguard' as suggested on the forum but the download is not listed on the HP website for my machine.

Anyone know where I can get the correct '3D Driveguard' download for my machine?

Re: 3D Driveguard Download Sept 2017

Hi,

Try the following.

Download the version of HP 3D DriveGuard on the following link and save it to your Downloads folder.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp81001-81500/sp81142.exe

Download and install the x64 version of 7-Zip on the link below.

http://www.7-zip.org/

When you've installed 7-Zip, open your Downloads folder, right click on the sp81142 package, select 7-Zip, select extract files and then click Ok.

Cut this newly extracted folder and paste it on your Desktop so it's easy to find.

When done, hold down the Windows key and press R

Into the Run window, type devmgmt.msc and hit enter.

In Device Manager, expand System devices, right click the HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor entry and select 'Update Driver Software'.

In the following window, select 'Browser my computer for driver software' and then select 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer'.

In the next window, click the 'Have Disk' button and then browse to the extracted  sp81142 folder you pasted on your Desktop.

Browse into the sub-folder InstallFiles, open the folder Win10, left click on the file accelerometer to highlight it and then click Open.

Click on 'Ok' and then click 'Next' and wait for the driver to install.

When done, click 'Close' and then click 'Yes' to restart the notebook.

Re: 3D Driveguard Download Sept 2017

After I downloaded the 2 files per instructions, extracted the files, and tried to install the drive, Windows said this program won't run on your PC.

Now what?????

I have installed as described, but it still says that the HP Accelerometer is incompatible.

HP Pavilion Notebook

HP 3D Drivegard 6.0.41.1

Re: 3D Driveguard Download Sept 2017

I tried other suggested solutions to delete and re-install various versions of 3D driveguard - none of which worked.

This solution worked first time and was quite easy to follow - I recommend it to others and thank the provider .

[ Edited ]

Didn't work for me. I made a number of attempts following instructions exactly without success.
