HP Elitebook 840 G4
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello guys,
Im quite struggling with HP Elitebook 840 G4.

After a fresh install of Windows 10 Pro and installing a couple of programs that we use at work it started to have a problem with 4 different Blue screens of the death.

  • System_service_exception
  • Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area
  • Memory_management
  • System_service_exception

At first we tried to reinstall it once again and it havent helped at all. We tried to reinstall even drivers and still the same problem.
We have it sent to a servis but as it came out they couldnt fix the problem and told us that it havent occured when they tried it. I wanted to ask you if there is anything we can do to solve those blue screens and have it fixed.

Thank you,
M.

The blue screen happens when Windows encounters a critical error that stops the operating system from running. These critical errors can be the result of faulty hardware, faulty or low level hardware drivers, or faulty or low level apps that run within the Windows kernel.

As I can see that there are three separate BSOD errors you just encountered:

1. System_service_exception

The annoying System Service Exception error is often caused by driver or software incompatibility.

2. Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area

“Page fault in nonpaged area” or PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA or Error Code 0x00000050 means that the system has referred to invalid memory. In other words, this happens due to incorrect memory addresses or system references to discharged memory.

3. Memory_management

A memory management BSOD means there's been a critical memory management error. The memory management BSOD stop code is 0x0000001A. There are several well-known causes for memory management errors:

  • Faulty RAM
  • Issues with new hardware, such as a graphics card
  • Faulty drivers
  • Software issues, including corrupt system and operating system files
  • Disk errors

The Windows memory management bluescreen error usually relates to your RAM over any other hardware component.

In your case, this could indicate that an incompatible app installed on your PC. Check to make sure that any incompatible apps are uninstalled and see if the issue persists. Neither a driver or other software on your PC isn't compatible with the update. You can just restore your PC to an earlier date that it works well, and wait for the next updates by Microsoft.

Hello,

Thanks for your reply. The thing is that we have more of these type of HP laptops and all of them are using the same programs. Use case of mentioned laptops is the same with every single one of them and yet this happend just with one of many others.

We are deploying programs and drivers via our deployment server..isnt there an option that it could be more likely cause of the hardware?

I appreciate your quick reply, maybe you can just troubleshoot all components that possibly cause the issue, please do keep me updated, thank you!

I will try to change disk and ram if it solves the problem after it comes back from a service.

Thank you again. I will keep you updated.
