The hard drive has failed on my laptop.
I have fitted a new hard drive
I need to reinstall the windows 10 home 64 bit operating system.
I need the correct HP media as to have all the correct drivers etc & also to be confident the operating system activation works correctly.
I rang HP only to be told this media ( I assume a dvd) is over £40 !!!!
This cannot be correct ????
I purchased a laptop that included a licence for Windows 10 & not the hard drive has failed it seems I am being held to ransom by HP and am being forced to purchase the media I need. This cannot be correct.
Infuriated is not the word.
There must be another way

Hi:
There is a free way to reinstall W10, but you will have to install the available software and drivers yourself from your notebook's support page.
https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-15-ba000-Notebook-PC-series/10862317
You can clean install W10 for free at any time by using the Media creation tool at the link below.
Create a USB (you will need an 8 GB USB flash drive) installation flash drive.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
The software will work with the W10 product key in the BIOS and automatically activate once you are connected to the internet.
