@TB2000A, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your new HP laptop. It sounds frustrating! Let's try to troubleshoot the issues you're experiencing:

Freezing and Low Performance:

  • Check for Updates: Ensure your Windows and drivers are up to date. Sometimes, updates can fix performance issues.
  • Task Manager: Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) to see if any processes are using a lot of resources. You might need to close or uninstall unnecessary programs.
  • Disk Cleanup: Run Disk Cleanup to remove temporary files and free up space.

System Errors:

  • Event Viewer: Check the Event Viewer for any critical errors that might give clues about what's causing the problem.
  • System File Checker: Run sfc /scannow in Command Prompt to check for and repair corrupted system files.

Windows Not Working:

  • Safe Mode: Boot into Safe Mode to see if the issues persist. If they don't, it might be a software conflict.
  • Reset Windows: If nothing else works, consider resetting Windows. This will reinstall the OS but keep your personal files.

Random Shutdowns:

  • Overheating: Ensure the laptop is not overheating. Clean the vents and make sure it's on a hard, flat surface.
  • Battery Issues: Check if the battery is functioning properly. Sometimes, a faulty battery can cause shutdowns.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
