Hi @RedCheesecake ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion 14-n012ax Notebook and issue with speeds. You could restore the BIOS with this document selecting the reloading the BIOS default settings which could resolve the issue with speeds and fans.
Here is a document on improving your system.
Make sure all updates have been completed in the control panel or click the Windows key and start typing PC settings, then go to update.
You could try a Refresh of Windows 8. Please read all the document before performing.
Please let me know how this goes.
Thanks.
Please click “Accept as Solution ” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.

Greetings @Harsh619,
Thanks for the post.
I understand that you are facing a performance issue on your computer.
Not to worry, I will be glad to help.
Have you tried any troubleshooting steps on your own?
Recommend you run a system test on your computer. Click here for assistance.
If any of the tests fails, please replace the failed component or contact our phone support for any service options available.
If all the tests pass, please run HP Support Assistant to make sure all the drivers are updated, (BIOS, Chipset, and graphics.) Click here for assistance.
Also, make sure all the Windows updates are also installed.
Please refer to this HP Article for other troubleshooting steps to improve the performance of your computer.
Keep me posted.

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂
I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.
As I understand you've got a new HP Laptop (Congratulations on that) and you need information on upgrading it,
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
Did you check the user/service manual guide? Click here to view it.
While you check that out, here's what you need to know:
Two SODIMM non-customer-accessible/upgradable memory module slots (Core i3 processors)
DDR3L-1600 MHz dual channel support (DDR3L-1600 dual-channel support)
One SODIMM non-customer-accessible/upgradable memory module slot (Pentium, Celeron processors)
DDR3L-1333 MHz dual channel support (DDR3L-1600 downgraded to DDR3L-1333)
Supports up to 4 GB max system memory (DDR3L-1600 MHz module)
Supports the following system RAM conƭgurations:
● 8192 MB (8192 MB×1 or 4096 MB×2)
● 6144 MB (4096 MB×1 + 2048 MB×1)
● 4096 MB (4096 MB×1 or 2048 MB×2)
● 2048 MB (2048 MB×1)
I'm afraid this would not make any changes to the graphics memory as that's based on your graphics card, however, you would notice a lot of change or improvement in performance as the shared graphics memory is system managed and with room for more memory, you would have better quality.
I hope that helps.
And If the information I've provided was helpful,
give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Good Luck.
