My husband bught me a hp stream last month to replace the hp I am currently writing on, this one needs a new battery and is also too heavy for me due to a neck injury.
The other day I tried a free trial of AVG antivirus andpc tune up - Now I have no access to my stream lap top, just a black screen and it has no disc player either. I contacted them and no answer,
Tommorrow is my birthday and I would appreciate some suggestions.
Thanks, Deblyne

Hi David,
Thank you for answering my question. When turn the computer on all you see is a black screen. You see nothing else except if I press windows I get narrator. The black screen is immediate. The key to reboot does nothing at all.

OK. Turn on the computer and wait until you are able to get the narrator. . Now hold the power button until it switches off (keep pressed until the power led goes out).
Now start the computer and continously press F11 until the recovery console comes up. If the recovery console comes up . Choose troubleshoot, then recover manager and then System recovery.
Let me know if it works,
David
PS: Happy Birthday:smileyhappy:

Dear David,
Thank you for the Happy Birthday wish. I appreciate your help more than I can say. I did as you said and held the power
button down and suddenly the computer screen brought up the Hp motto and started normally. It had to be user error on
my part because a message came up saying that it would be put back to sleep when the lid was closed.
This has taught me to pay better attention to any changes I make to my computer or any changes I agree to. Thank you
again for your kindness, time and instructions.
Deb
