Hi there,
https://www.hp.com/sa-en/products/laptops/product-details/product-specifications/2101845096
|
I've been eyeing this laptop and want to get it ASAP but I'm concerned about a few things such as warranty due to it's released date 2023 , how long will warranty last for this particular product? I'm in Saudi Arabia.
Is 16 ram upgradable up to 24 or 32?
I've read pn amazon reviews that there is some sort of malfunction about keyboard keys typing different letters/ symonls from what's printed on them, so how to get this ptoblem fixed if warrnty and support is no longer available/with not much time left? and if another issue surfaced, how to get it fixed?!
Lastly, about battary life, I will be connecting the laptop to ac powr outlet for 10-12 houts a day. how to make sure battary is not swallen or damaged from being in 100% charged all these hours?! will it wear out like once or twice a year?! and where to find replacement?! is it easy and safe to get it replaced at home by myself?
I really need clearification.
Many thanks in advance.

Hi @How-2beordinary,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thanks for checking out the HP Laptop 15-fd0000nx (product code 8F1N4EA). I’ll clarify warranty, memory, keyboard concerns, and battery care for use in Saudi Arabia.
Warranty (Saudi Arabia)
- This model ships with a 1-year limited hardware warranty (1/1/0: parts & labor, no on-site). The warranty term starts from your purchase date, not the product’s 2023 release date. If the online checker ever shows a different start date, you can request a correction by providing proof of purchase.
Memory (RAM): What HP supports
- The 15-fd0000 series is offered/configured by HP with up to 16 GB DDR4-3200 (typically 2×8 GB). 16 GB is the maximum HP-tested and supported capacity for this family. Upgrading beyond 16 GB (e.g., 24 GB or 32 GB) isn’t validated by HP and isn’t supported.
Keyboard types of different letters/symbols: what to do
Most reports like this are caused by a keyboard layout/input language mismatch. Once you set up the device, it will be good if you keep it updated, and it will be fine.
Battery care for long hours on AC (10–12 hrs/day)
- Your unit uses an internal 3-cell, 41 Wh Li-ion battery and supports HP Fast Charge (≈50% in ~45 min).
- To reduce wear while mostly plugged in, many HP notebooks include Battery Health Manager in the BIOS. If available on your unit, set it to “Maximize my battery health” (caps charge around ~80% and manages charging to extend lifespan):
- Power off → connect AC
- Power on → tap F10 (BIOS)
- Look for Battery Health Manager under Advanced/Power → choose Maximize my battery health → Save & Exit.
(If you don’t see the option, keep BIOS up to date; availability varies by model.)
- Keep the laptop cool and ventilated, avoid leaving it at 100% in hot environments, and periodically run HP Battery Check (HP PC Hardware Diagnostics or HP Support Assistant).
Battery replacement: The 15-fd0000nx uses an internal battery. For safety and to protect your warranty, HP recommends replacement by an HP Authorized Service Partner rather than DIY.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!

Thanks for the reply.
I did some research and unfortunately it turns out that battary health maximizing is limited to business laptops.
Where can I find authorized service partners?
