HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-d4000 (4C803AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

I recently purchased an HP laptop 15.6"15-d4000(4C803AV) with Windows 11 Home Edition pre-installed. Problem is laptop keeps asking for activation. I do this by accessing activation trouble shooting in Windows11 settings. It is then ok for maybe 4 days and then repeats request. I do the same again.

Does anyone Know of a solution to stop this happening? While it does not seem to affect operation of  laptop PC it can be annoying,

I am using Windows 23H2-up to date.

      Thanks Rayal49

Hi:

If your notebook came with W11 from HP, there should be a W11 OEM product key encrypted in the notebook's BIOS.

Download and install the free Showkey Plus app from the Microsoft Store.

ShowKeyPlus - Microsoft Apps

If the PC came with W11, the app will report a Windows 11 OEM product key and the version of W11 the key is good for.

There should also be a report of an Installed key.

If the installed key is different than the OEM key, change the installed product key to the OEM product key in the PC settings and you should be able to permanently activate W11.
