Hello HP Community,
After my HP Pavilion decided to install a BIOS update, it did not boot anymore, not even until the BIOS screen. It just turns on the fans but then shuts down immediately.
I've reset the BIOS with the windows + B key method as well as via USB drive with the official driver from the HP website. Still the same on-off loop.
I also tried to download an older version of the BIOS from the website but when trying to install it I got an error saying the USB drive had no files or corrupted files.
Its quite sad because before I had zero problems with the notebook which ran out of warranty 3 months ago.
Has anyone experienced something similar or even knows a solution to free my notebook from the endless loop?
Please let me know 🙂

Thank you for your reply!
I was following all the steps, I got to the recovery screen and it finished but unfortunately like before but when it then restarts it's turning off and on without showing anything on the screen. Just the fans go on for some seconds sometimes quite loud.
Maybe the update destroyed my motherboard or CPU?

Hello @pergeht
(1) Double check with external monitor connected via vga/hdmi cable. Same error pattern on external monitor ?
- Power off notebook (press and hold <power> button until notebook switches off )
- Power off external monitor
- Connect vga/hdmi cable
- Power on external monitor
- Power on notebook

Thanks for your reply!
I've followed your steps but it seems the monitor doesn't receive anything. Also during the BIOS recovery it didn't show anything just on the notebook. I've tried with a TV and a monitor.

Hello @pergeht
(1) Use (another Windows computer) to create <USB flash drive>
HP Notebook System BIOS Update | F.41 Rev.A | 29.4 MB | Sep 12, 2022 | Download |
Follow --->>> BIOS Recovery Reinstall with USB
(2) Repeat reflash procedures:
- windows + b <USB flash drive> not connected
- windows + v <USB flash drive> not connected
- windows + b <USB flash drive> connected
- windows + v <USB flash drive> connected
Keep me updated
Kind regards

Hello @pergeht
My options are exhausted...
Recommendation and solution
HP warranty valid -> Contact HP Support for service repair
HP warranty expired:
You should have it serviced by a professional notebook (chip level) repair store.
Alternative:
If it can't be repaired or replacing the motherboard is too expensive, you should buy another notebook.
Good luck
