I have installed NixOS on my laptop, it was working and after shutting down and restarting opening. But after one day I started the Laptop again, and Windows was back, although I had installed NixOS on the whole harddrive.

How can I prevent the windows reinstallation!

Welcome to HP Support Community, @lutzb

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

  • Here are a few short paraphrased options:
  • Please confirm if your system is dual-boot, and let me know if you want to completely remove all Windows partitions before reinstalling NixOS.
  • Can you check if Windows still exists alongside NixOS (dual boot)? If yes, you may need to wipe the disk and delete all Windows partitions, then reinstall NixOS to fully replace it.
  • Please verify whether this is a dual-boot setup. To prevent Windows from returning, you must erase all Windows partitions and reinstall NixOS as the only OS.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
