Hi @mannfret,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand you're seeking a driver for your HP Scanjet 300 scanner after upgrading to Windows 11. Unfortunately, HP does not provide an official driver for this model on Windows 11. The latest available drivers are for Windows 10 Microsoft Learn.

Use Windows 10 Drivers:

Some users have reported success by installing the Windows 10 drivers on Windows 11. You can download the drivers from HP's official website:

HP Scanjet 300 Drivers

Utilize Windows Built-in Scanning Tools:

Windows 11 includes built-in scanning tools that might work with your scanner:

Windows Scan App: Available from the Microsoft Store.

Windows Fax and Scan: Pre-installed on Windows.

These tools can sometimes detect and work with older scanners even without specific drivers.

Consider Third-Party Scanning Software:

Software like VueScan offers broad scanner support and may work with your HP Scanjet 300.

Visit the VueScan website to check compatibility and download options.

Steps to Install Windows 10 Drivers on Windows 11

Download the Driver:

Visit the HP Scanjet 300 Drivers page and download the latest Windows 10 driver.

Install the Driver:

Right-click the downloaded driver file and select Properties.

Under the Compatibility tab, check Run this program in compatibility mode for: and select Windows 10.

Click Apply, then OK.

Double-click the driver file to start the installation process.

Connect Your Scanner:

Ensure your HP Scanjet 300 is connected to your PC via USB.

Turn on the scanner.

Test the Scanner:

Open Windows Scan or Windows Fax and Scan and check if the scanner is detected.

If detected, try scanning a document to verify functionality.

I hope this helps.
