Hi @SEC4P,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you've recently replaced the main battery in your laptop and it's now encountering boot issues and displaying blue screens when attempting to reset or troubleshoot, there are several potential causes for this problem. Here's what you can do to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Check Battery Connection:
- Ensure that the new battery is properly connected to the laptop. Sometimes, improper connections can cause boot issues.
2. Reset Hardware:
- Power off the laptop and disconnect all external devices (such as USB drives, external monitors, etc.).
- Remove the battery and then press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds to drain any residual power.
- Reinsert the battery and try powering on the laptop again.
3. Inspect Battery Compatibility:
- Make sure that the replacement battery is compatible with your laptop model. Using an incompatible battery can cause issues with power delivery and system stability.
4. Update BIOS/UEFI Firmware:
- Check if there are any BIOS or UEFI firmware updates available for your laptop model.
- Visit the HP website and download/install any available updates following the provided instructions.
5. Boot into Safe Mode:
- Try booting the laptop into Safe Mode by repeatedly pressing the appropriate key (usually F8 or Shift + F8) during startup.
- In Safe Mode, you can troubleshoot software-related issues and potentially identify any drivers or programs causing conflicts.
6. Run Startup Repair:
- Use a Windows installation media (such as a USB drive or DVD) to boot into the Windows Recovery Environment.
- From there, select "Troubleshoot" > "Advanced options" > "Startup Repair" and follow the on-screen instructions to repair any boot-related issues.
7. Perform System Restore:
- If you have previously created a system restore point, you can try restoring your system to a previous state where it was functioning properly.
- Boot into the Windows Recovery Environment and select "Troubleshoot" > "Advanced options" > "System Restore" to initiate the restore process.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
