HP Spectre x360 - 13-ae013dx
Microsoft Windows 11

When I turned on my HP Spectre 360 Windows 11 laptop computer today, the normal screen with a photograph appeared, and the screen recognized my face (which should successfully log me in, taking me to the next screen).  The next screen should be the Windows desktop.  But the Windows desktop did not appear.  Instead, a black, blank screen appeared.  I could only see the white cursor move around on the black screen.  The tried to log in seven or eight times, alternately using face recognition and my PIN, to log in.  Each time, instead of the Windows desktop appearing, a black, blank page appeared.

I telephoned Hewlett Packard support.  We tried several approaches to fix the problem, but nothing worked.  Finally, the only solution HP could recommend was resetting my computer, which I want to avoid.  The person at HP I spoke to was not allowed to communicate with Microsoft to determine the correct way to resolve the issue.  I cannot telephone Microsoft to solve the problem.  Microsoft doesn't answer the telephone anymore.  I assume that this is a Windows 11 software bug.  What does Microsoft recommend?

After turning off and turning on the computer ten or twelve times, the home screen finally appeared!   So, I am able to use my HP laptop to write this support community request.  But this problem will surely recur, and I may not be so lucky next time.

Thanks
