After the latest windows update my notebook doesn't boot anymore. It goes straight to Hardware Diagnostics UEFI and I've ran all test the Smart Check: Passed &
Short DST: Failed
Failure ID: MBVXJF-8B0B7R-MFPX7G-60WJ03
Product ID: L0T33UA#ABA
Hard drive 1
I've had this laptop for a few years but never even opened & used it til last year. And I already run into this problem, and I try to get help and find out it came with a warranty. But my luck it's already expired of course! If I only knew it had came with a warranty. I might've been able to avoid this. Somebody please help me & tell me is this an easy fix or should I just give up & get rid of it & start with a brand new notebook. Just so you know I'm not much of a tech person. Hopefully that'll help you to be able to help me!!! Or maybe scare you away😄. I'm still new with everything being online. I guess I'm just old school & probably stuck... I'd greatly appreciate any & all help. Please!
Thank you in advance. I hope for everyone's day to be blessed with happiness, prosperity & abundance😉.
Yours truly,
Jomae3

Hi:
It is very surprising that if you hardly used the notebook that the hard drive would fail, but that is what happened.
It is a relatively inexpensive and a moderately difficult fix provided you can do the work yourself.
Below is the link to the service manual.
HP 15 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide
Chapter 6 has the hard drive removal and replacement procedure.
If you want to give it a shot, before buying a new drive, if you can get to where the old one is, I recommend you replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a better performing 2.5" solid state drive (SSD).
This would be the replacement drive I recommend for your notebook.
After you replace the drive, you can reinstall W10 for free by making bootable installation media with the media creation tool from the link below. Make the 64-bit installation media.
Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)
After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.
