Hi @Jeffado,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like the updates and SSD upgrade might have affected the drivers for your touchscreen and webcam. Here’s how you can reinstall them.
Touchscreen Driver
Check Device Manager:
- Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Look for Human Interface Devices and find the HID-compliant touch screen or similar. If it’s missing or has a warning icon, you may need to update or reinstall the driver.
Update Driver:
- Right-click on HID-compliant touch screen (if present) and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software and follow the prompts.
Reinstall Driver:
- If updating doesn’t work, you might need to reinstall the driver:
- Right-click on HID-compliant touch screen and select Uninstall device.
- Restart your laptop. Windows should attempt to reinstall the driver automatically.
Download from HP:
- Go to the HP Support website.
- Enter your laptop model and check for touchscreen drivers under the Driver-Keyboard, Mouse and Input Devices section.
- Download and install the driver.
Webcam Driver
Check Device Manager:
- Open Device Manager again.
- Look for Imaging Devices and find your webcam (it might be listed as HP Wide Vision HD Camera or something similar). If it’s missing or has an issue, you’ll need to update or reinstall the driver.
Update Driver:
- Right-click on the webcam and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software and follow the instructions.
Reinstall Driver:
- If updating doesn’t resolve the issue:
- Right-click on the webcam and select Uninstall device.
- Restart your laptop. Windows should try to reinstall the webcam driver automatically.
Download from HP:
- Go to the HP Support website.
- Enter your laptop model and find the webcam drivers under the Driver-Video section.
- Download and install the driver.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
