Sorry, should have included this folder with my recent solved question.
This folder is called SYSTEM.SAV. Never seen it before so it must be particular to HP, and again looks to be connected with the initial setup.
It's very likely that I will never use the recovery options included with this laptop as that will take me back to Win10 1703.
Just trying to keep things tidy, and as before very grateful for any advice.
Many thanks

Hi,
Correct again
The folder is normally hidden from Windows Explorer by default - it contains various data concerned with the initial configuration of the system. The folder is also used to report the installation success/failure codes for some of the software commonly bundled with HP notebooks - ie Cyberlink software.
I've never found it's removal causes any problems, but I would always recommend backing it up before deletion.
Alternatively, you could rehide the folder from file explorer by right clicking the folder and entering a checkmark in the 'Hidden box' under the Attributes: then selecting Apply and Ok.

Thank you again for your help. I'd guessed what it was for by reading the plethora of log files it contains.
Sure won't miss Cyberlink 🙂
For now I will copy it to the Seagate and rename, then leave it for a month or so. If no issues I will delete.
Once again, thanks for your help. I think I've finished now
Regards
John
