Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an EliteBook 820 G1 that failed, found a replacement online, installed it and system back to life. Tried to update the BIOS, but previous owner set the password and now I can't get into the BIOS. The F7 recovery wasn't set up originally, and without the password, it is of no use. After a frustrating chat session with HP support, I was told that they no longer provide the SMC.bin file needed to reset the password. Anyone have a solution? I'd even go for replacing the BIOS chip on the system board, if I knew which one it was...
