A moment of silence for Windows 7. RIP.
Yes, you are still my favorite operating system and I clung to you on my Pavilion dv6-6108us laptop. When the hard drive failed I replaced it with a SSD and reinstalled you on it. But now, your time is over.
I can't afford a new laptop and would like to try to upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 10. Is there anyone out there who has done that successfully?
I'm cleaning up files, everything is saved on Dropbox, I have created a system repair disc, a system restore point, and am working on clearing a drive for a system image. Any other advice or tips? Thanks!

Hi
I assume that the PC is not too old to run Virtual Box
You could install a Linux (alongside current W7) and then Virtual Box, on an encrypted partition, and then install Windows 7 inside Virtual Box. If it runs satisfactorily then..........
....... experiment with W10, replacing the current W7.
