HP Laptop

When I log into my desktop, certain apps (Spotify and Microsoft Teams) automatically open. I close them before I shut down my laptop every day but still they open automatically. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling them. Please if anyone knows what to do any help would be appreciated.

Hello @Jackoconnor1,

That's normal behaviour. To prevent them from automatically starting up, please try the following steps:

  1. Right-click the Windows icon
  2. Select Task Manager
  3. Navigate to the Startup tab
  4. Select Microsoft Teams and select Disable on the bottom-right
  5. Do the same for Spotify

You can do the same for other applications.

If you have the UWP version of Spotify, I don't think it shows up in Task Manager. Instead, open Spotify, then go to Edit > Preferences > Open Spotify Automatically after you log into the computer.

Kind regards,

Eddy
