I have an HP omen 30L gt13-0024, started my computer after 2 weeks and was met with an auto repair screen, which of course failed. hard reset the PC multiple times, even unplugging it, and waiting a bit to turn it on. same issue... i ran a quick test and every hardware component passed, so i assume its a software issue. i have tried to reset and remove all files, but it fails instantly. i have also tried to uninstall quality/feature updates but those fail as well. i also tried to perform a system restore, but it says there are no restore points available. even though i havent messed with any of that (and there should be a recovery point from factory). i feel lost at this point

Hi @herm713,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're dealing with a tough situation. If the auto repair feature fails and other troubleshooting steps haven't worked, you might need to perform a clean installation of Windows. Here’s how you can proceed.

Backup Your Data

If you haven’t done so already, try to back up your important data. Since you can't access Windows normally, you might need to use a bootable USB drive with a file recovery tool or connect the drive to another computer to access your files.

Create a Windows Installation Media

You’ll need another working computer to create a bootable USB drive. Follow these steps:

Download the Windows 11 Installation Media:

Create the Installation Media:

  • Run the downloaded tool and select Create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD, or ISO file) for another PC.
  • Follow the prompts to create the bootable USB drive.

Boot from the USB Drive

  1. Insert the bootable USB drive into your HP Omen 30L.
  2. Restart the computer and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing Esc, F2, F10, or Del during startup).
  3. Change the boot order to prioritize the USB drive.
  4. Save and exit the BIOS/UEFI settings.

Install Windows

  1. When the computer boots from the USB drive, you’ll see the Windows setup screen.
  2. Select your language preferences and click Next.
  3. Click Install now.
  4. When prompted, choose Custom: Install Windows only (advanced).
  5. Select the drive where Windows is currently installed (usually Drive 0) and delete the existing partitions. Be aware this will erase all data on that drive.
  6. Click Next to start the installation.

Follow the On-Screen Instructions

  • The installation process will copy files and may take some time. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

Reinstall Drivers and Software

  • After Windows is installed, you’ll need to reinstall drivers and software. You can usually download drivers from the HP support website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
