I have a brand new Crucial X10 SSD.
Several questions:
1) Do I need to create 2 partitions in the SSD in order to store the Windows 11 Back up and the BIOS Back up separately?
2) How do I go about completing the BIOS Back up on my laptop HP Envy 17?
PLease feel free to suggest any other advice I should consider on these 2 topics and any other as well.
Thanks in advance for the assistance and your time.

You can store the Windows backup in a folder and the BIOS backup should be external on a USB flash drive.
Personally, I store my Windows backup images to an external USB drive.
You can download the BIOS versions from this HP web document. Open the Revision History section.

Thanks for the help.
Regarding the HP BIOS Back UP web link:
Is this the link to download the original default version?
How do I go about downloading my laptop version with the current settings?
Note: Currently, I do not have a USB Flash Drive.
Would it be acceptable to back it up as well on a separate partition in my External SSD? If yes, How do I determine the memory size I need to assign to safely store it in the External SSD?
Thanks in advance again for sharing your technical support and time.

Here is the link to download the initial and original BIOS version
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp151001-151500/sp151424.exe
You can download it to a folder in your external storage drive.
I suggest naming the folder something like OriginalLaptopBIOS so you can locate it easily.
The BIOS file is a tiny file, so don't worry about needing much space for it. It is 13.9 MB.
Initial is the original

Erico:
Thanks for sharing your technical experience with me. I do appreciate it.
I have been advice in order to preserve the current BIOS in my laptop as well. From what I can gather, it will save me lots of work in the end, God Forbid, I need it should my laptop suffers anything major.
I have tried searching for the steps to complete this task both in the internet, YouTube and even HP Support website, but NO luck there for me.
Can you please provide me the steps to complete this process, before I even dare to update my current BIOS version.
Thanks in advance for your help and time.
