Hi,

I dont know why my older post has been locked??? This is possible as it is written in your documentation. You can update the BIOS through Windows Update even if it is password protected. It needs to bypass the password only for the firmware update. We dont want to remove or disable the password for 2000 users.

In our organisation there are 2000 notebooks that are needed to update the BIOS firmware. They can see the update through the windows update portal from Microsoft, but when they want to install and update it the device asks password when the BIOS wants to update. All the notebooks are password protected and we cant just disable the password.

This is possible if Im reading the HP documentation:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c07009542

already checked:

native os firmware update service is ENABLED in BIOS

prompt for admin authentication on capsule update is DISABLED

Is it another setting on the BIOS which I need to look? Or is it a policy setting? Or just another setting within Windows?
