Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello !

I keep getting "Enter administrator password or Power on Password" at start-up and I tried at least fifteen times to use the solutions listed at https://bios-pw.org/ (three times a wrong passw, then at "system disabled" writing down the code listed :  The last one was "A (276 56 504)" - Nothing works and none of the codes given by that web site help...

I can remove the battery, but not open up further to get to the CMOS battery.

Is there another way THAT WORKS ???

Thanks a lot for any help !!

@Eskapet

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand, your notebook is asking for BIOS password,

In this case, I would suggest you contact our phone support

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Click on "Continue as guest".

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

Re: HP 17-p155nb Azerty

Thx for your reply Flower-Bud,  I tried ..

But I can't find a proper SN number :

- nothing at the rear

- the only thing I see when I remove the battery is  a number 6FAPDC5GW112TY - but the web site doesn't accept it and asks for an additonal number - and after (totally out of the blue) I added a number found on that battery (text in Chinese or Taiwanese characters)..., the systeem replies that support has stopped for this system...  and refers to the foum...

I've been through this forum over and over again, and every solution refers to that website to get a code after three attemps to log in until "system disabled" (doesn't work for me) or some solution through entering a "cmd" (under DOS?) but the very first screen that appears is the blocking factor : asking for that dam'ned "enter password or power password"...

Thanks anyway!

Kind regards,

Anne

@Eskapet,

It looks like you were interacting with @Flower_Bud, but he is out for the day & I'll be glad to help you out,
I'm the Jeet_Singh & I'm at your service.

As I understand you are having issues finding the serial/product number of your HP notebook and with the power on password. Don't worry I'll do my best to help you find a solution.

Let's start off by finding the product number of your notebook - If you're not sure on how to find the information, please use this link to find it:  https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03754824  (Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).

Regarding the power on password, You would have to Contact HP for a hardware service as the motherboard may require a tattoo/Bios Flash.
Any other way of unlocking the BIOS is not authorized by HP.

Please use the link from the previous post to contact them. I'm sure they would be able to address your issue.

Let me know if you need any further assistance. I'll be more than glad to help you.

Feel free to post your query for any other assistance as well,

It's been a pleasure interacting with you and I hope you have a good day ahead.
