This is a customers latop. The bought it years ago for there son who was in the military. He is still with us, thank the Lord, but doesn't remember the password he put on it years ago, and so it falls to me to recover the laptop for them somehow. I would be very thankful for any help, and I know they would be forever greatful. I have tried removing all power and shorting jumpers to no avail. I have seen on here were you have helped others who have the fault code so here we are trying. reset bios password HP dv4 code 63012996
