Just bought a used notebook PC. When trying to access BIOS I see that it's password protected. Entering the password 3 times brings me to the on screen keyboard and then it says I can only reboot from the power button.

Tried Mazzif's bios pass reset utility here:  http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/49497-HP-Probook-Elitebook-BIOS-Password-Reset-Utility

It fails with message: failed to set tpm error code 87

Unable to contact hp for generating smc.bin at  http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html?jumpid=reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0003, says it is 'Unable to determine warranty status'

Worked using Mazzif's utility after all. Although my model looks supported at #1, had to use option #5 - Shotgun instead.

Mazzif worked but not good I tested on the elitebook 8440P and Probook 6440B worked fine both ..... but one problem is the computer does not charge the battery anymore .... it's plugged and charging but the battery will never be charged ... thank you if you can fix it too otherwise works fine with unlocking.
