HP Spectre x360 - 13-ae006no
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The BIOS update do not work. Nothing happens at the end. Seem like it is missing the files.

How to update from F36 to F38?

I looked at the revision history for your laptop and the only BIOS update that was useful (IMHO) was F.31

All the newer BIOS updates were security related and probably will slow down your laptop.

It is always dangerous to upgrade bios. Unless there is a real need and the HP support assistant requests the upgrade, I would not do it.  Updates that improve security are needed in a corporate environment but for most systems they will likely slow down your PC.  I personally would not upgrade any BIOS that was only security related unless the PC was used in a corporate, industrial or military organization.

Check your warranty and decided if you want to risk a BIOS upgrade like these users did

There is probably a reason why the update did not work and forcing an update may leave you with a laptop that is not working.

What about this Securitys bulletins bellow (its several security bulletins warnings regarding the BIOS marked as high severity) ?

Also one about HP SoftPaq Installer Vulnerability (that might explain why the update did not work)

The CPU fan is behaving strange going at very high RPM (making a high pitch frequency noise). That was the first reason I wanted to update the HP laptop. Then i read the warnings and thinking maybe there something fishy going on deep inside the system.
