HP 250 G6 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everyone,

on this pc i have the following problem. From windwos update I updated the bios to version F.71. Upon reboot, the classic HP update screen appeared where it appeared that it completed the update. Nothing on reboot, black screen. No flashing keys on the keyboard. I tried using the WINDWOS + B/V keys: but nothing. I also did the bios recovery usb stick, but nothing appears on the screen. On 2 forums I found that 2 other users had the same bug with the same model and BIOS version. How can I fix? And why didn't HP remove this buggy update from their server?

Thank you

Hi @iron95,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the BIOS update on your HP 250 G6 Notebook has failed, here are some steps you can try.

  • Make sure that your laptop is plugged into a power source and the battery is charged. BIOS updates require a lot of power and failing to keep your laptop plugged in could cause the update to fail.
  • Try the BIOS update again. Sometimes, a failed BIOS update is simply due to a glitch or an error during the installation process. Try running the update again to see if it will install successfully this time.
  • Check for any error messages. When the BIOS update fails, there may be an error message displayed on the screen. Check for any error codes or messages that can provide more information about the cause of the failure.
  • Try a different BIOS update. If the first BIOS update fails, try downloading and installing a different one. Make sure that the new update is compatible with your laptop model and follow the installation instructions carefully.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

HI,

Thanks for the reply.

When I did the Bios update the pc was fully charged and with the power supply inserted. Unfortunately, no message comes up on the screen. When I turn on the pc, the screen just turns black (no hp logo, nothing at all). Tried WINDWOS + B/V keys, nothing. Even creating a bios recovery stick did not solve the problem. I'm afraid the bios is corrupted.

However reading on 2 forums (not hp), the same problem happened to others with the same bios version F.71. One solved by changing the motherboard, while the other changed the bios chip (reprogramming it)
